So a couple of weeks ago I found out that Jennifer Bellinger had awarded me the Art Y Pico Award....It absolutely made my day...Not just my day, my month! She gave it to me just at the moment I was doubting myself as an artist, and it was such a real honor to have someone I looked to on a regular basis as an inspiration listing me for this award!
Now part of winning it, is giving to five new people. And my delay in getting around to listing those people is simply because I recently moved and only now have internet, as my previous post tells you!
As a recipient I am asked to perpetuate the award by doing the following.
The Rules:
1. You have to pick 5 blogs that you consider deserve this award through creativity, design, interesting material, and also contributes to the blogger community, no matter of language.
2. Each award should have the name of the author with a link to their blog.
3. Award winners have to post the award with the name and link to the blog of the person who gave them the award.
4. Post a comment on each recipient's blog so they know they've been picked.
5. Show these rules and this paragraph explaining the awards origination. "The Arte y Pico Award has arisen from the daily visits that I make to many blogs which nourish and enrich me with creativity. In them, I see dedication, creativity, care, comradeship, but mainly, ART, much art. I want to share this prize with all those bloggers that entertain and enrich me day to day. Doubtlessly, there are many and it will be hard to pick just a few."
It is so true that it was hard to pick 5. The only thing that made it easier was that several of the 10 or so Ihad narrowed it down to, already received the award. So instead of awarding it twice I thought I would award it to the blogs I loved that hadn't received it yet. And.....Drum roll please.....
They are in no special order:
They are in no special order:
1.Cooper Dragonette -I will be honest that I initially found this Maine artist because he had a wicked cool name and I couldn't resist clicking to see what he did. But since I discovered blog land I have been a regular of his blog. I love the feel of his paintings. His light is wonderful, and he paints of my favorite place on earth!
2. Georgiana Ewing- Georgiana found me a few months ago. I have been checking her blog ever since. I love her color usage. The color she uses is so pure and vibrant, and she has such a loose quality to her work. I particularly love her interiors. On top of all this talent she seems really really sweet! Perfect combo!
3. Amy Sullivan- I love Amy's blog not only for her wonderful paintings of children but also for her insightful and delightful posts on the day to day stuff. I always enjoy her spin on life. Her paintings are soft and delicate, with a pure and innocent quality that captures her subjects perfectly.
4. Jelaine Faunce- Jelaine's realism amazes me....And she does Sushi! How cool is that!? Her light and detail are absolutely amazing. And she is super funny! I mean laugh out loud funny. Between the two factors, she has become another regular blog I visit. I always enjoy finding a new painting to admire!
5. Christopher Stott- I just love Christopher's unique style and his subjects. I love that he uses the same subjects over and over and achieves a wonderful effect each time. His work is sharp, modern, and clean......The simplicity of his work is perfect. Just the right balance. And just the right absence of too much. Does that make sense?

Well there they are....Only a few out of the many! Again, thanks to Jennifer for passing this to me!
