After promising myself all week that today would be devoted to painting, I completely slacked. I even had six canvases prepped and sketched ready to go, but I just couldn't resist being outside on a day like today. I always feel like these days late in the season when we don't expect them are so invigorating. Everyone seems to walk with a lighter step, people come out in droves to squeeze out that last glorious warmth before the New England winter sets in....
Well despite not painting, I still feel I had an emotionally productive day. Finally made it to church, grabbed sandwiches from our favorite little gourmet general store, and headed to the Audobon Sanctuary for some hiking. Just PERFECT.....Rustling through the dead leaves with the kids, the smells, the warmth. Really just a great day. So in lieu of paintings I will post pictures taken of my unsuspecting fam. And those are usually the best ones when they aren't looking. I love the one of the girls trying to catch the leaves as hubby shook a little sappling to help them fall. Pure Glee! At one point my little one begged my husband to hold her hand too (not an uncommon occurrence for me to get ditched in his favor :-), and then ran back to whisper to me "but I still love you a lot Mommy".
On another note I got a new commission from a lovely couple who came to visit yesterday. Should be fun!
