Changes

So Art in the Barn has come and gone again this year. I did sell one piece. My "Cox Reservation" from a couple of posts back. It was a sweet little painting, and I did another "mini" version for a teacher at school. She seemed happy with it, although I am always hesitant to give my paintings as gift, because if someone doesn't like it then they feel obligated to display it anyway.

I titled this post 'changes' because of a couple of reasons. One, is a dear friend will be moving from here and I will miss her terribly. She has been such an inspiration personally and artistically. She has run a gallery in town for the last year, and brought some much culture to our little corner of the world; concerts, letctures, live figure drawing classes, and just her joyful exuberant personality! I will miss her so much and hope to keep in touch. :-(

Second reason for 'changes', is the format of this blog. Because of my inability to filter who reads these posts I will regretablly have to keep these posts exclusively art related and eliminate photos of kids or personal information. I am saddened by this, as revealing little pieces of myself is a way for my readers to understand me and my view, both in art and life. Unfortunately, there are a couple of people who have a negative place in my life, who check this blog regularly, not with an interest in my work, but with an interest in "keeping tabs" on me. It makes me feel watched and uncomfortable when people I don't keep in my life can get information about me that I wouldn't give them directly. Obviously it's the double edged sword of the internet!

Happy summer everyone. Hope you are all enjoying it. Anyway have any fun art related excursions planned this year? Here is a link to an article I just read Auction for "Most Expensive Paintings to Take Place" Anybody want to go shopping?!
