6x6 Oil on Gallery Wrapped Canvas
Donuts, cupcakes, cakes, oreos, bismarks....You name it. When I first started this blog I LOVED to paint anything sweet. Largely inspired by Wayne Thibeau and Ed Carson (a western Mass artist who did AWESOME abstract paintings of pie, donuts, etc) when I first started painting there weren't many paintings for a while that DIDN'T include something scrumptious. Although now that I think of it, I wonder how much was creative inspiration and how much was a desire to have edible props!
Then I started blogging and realized there were other artists who like to paint sweet things as much as I do! How fun. (check out Kelly McDonald on the right. The girl can rock a jelly donut). While prepping for this upcoming show I've been painting lots of larger pieces and lots of landscape (which I love), but I really wanted to have some fun with a few little canvases I have to finish. Up next I believe is hostess cupcakes. Or maybe oreos again. Or lemon meringue pie, or....hmmmm yummy!
