I love this painting. Doing it made me happy....My husband came up while I was working on it and loved the blue cherries. He thought they were so funny, because the night he told me he loved me we were at a club that served their drinks with blue maraschino cherries. Simpleton that I am, I was mesmerized...And kept sneaking them out of the little container when the bartender wasn't watching....
I wasn't super happy with the spoon (metal is hard!) and I think I may go back in an rework it after I have had some practice. I also wasn't sure about the peachy background color.....My daughter loves it though....SO it stays! I wanted to mat this before posting it....It seems like I only like things after I mat them...
But I love love love the table cloth and the colors, and I went into all my vintage linens and dug up some wonderful old fabrics to use in future paintings....Then I went to the local antique store and picked up some fiesta ware...I think I may have a seriesto work on....
Anyone have tips for degunking (is that a word?) brushes....

Love this vintage tablecloth which I recognize. Also, I really like these three paintings with the still life fabric themes. I think this is your element but you are also breaking out of your comfort zone which is great.
