My name is Katie. I moved to the North Shore of Massachusetts in September and now live in Ipswich. Coming from Bennington, Vermont it is a big change....And a good one.... And certainly a change that has filled me with inspiration. Ihave recently started painting....I find it funny when my daughter's call me an artist....I have always been creative, but an artist has a certain Je ne sais quois....I don't have it. Yet! But I am trying and continuously creating and trying to improve. Hopefully, someday, I will be able to call myself an artist. Here are some of my first attempts.

I think you do have what is is that makes one an artist rather than just a painter. Your paintings seem to show not just what you see when you're painting; they seem to show what you're feeling ahout the things you're painting. It's like the difference between just taking a snapshot, and taking a photograph that reflects the photographer's perceptions of the subject.
Theses are very good. I like the pears very much.
The lemons and the fruit tart are lovely. You do the stripes well.
