20 x 20 Oil on canvas
So here is the finished (?) product.....Not sure if I will poke more...Probably ;-)
There is a terrible glare from the picture because it is still wet. I should have let it dry more but I couldn't wait to post something....I will retake the pictue so it is better.
Anyway this is a little clam shack in Ipswich.....You'd think they were selling gold the way people line up for it....It's good...But I have never been one to wait an hour and a half for any kind of food. I think people do it because they have to....You know, they need to say they have been there. I would only wait if they were giving drinks from the fountain of youth! So we lived here over a year and I would never stop there, and my daughter would always bug me because she LOVES fried seafood...Since the season is ending the lines haven't been as bad so we went one night to get take out....I was sitting outside waiting for them to call my number and the arrow was lit up and it looked really neat. So I took a pic then played with it on photoshop to get the effect I envisioned, and then this is the painted result.
By the way the building is literally shaped like a clam box....Too cute, huh?!
It is good to be bacl. I think I will try to paint on Friday's...I only work Mon-Thurs and the weekends are a wash with everyone home!

I really like this painting, and it's so good to have you posting again. I really enjoy your blog and your work. I have always wanted to go to the Clam Box, we have great fried clams in this area also but I hear that Ipswich's Clam Box is the best! Now I have to go! I hope you are settled into your new place and enjoying it.
Katie,
I noticed right away that this was a departure in subject matter for you. Change brings more change doesn't it? Glad you found something inspiring to kickstart you back into painting. I love the effect of the lit sign... well done!
I'm so happy to see you back, and you did such a good job with this piece! Painting on Fridays is good! It'll give you something to look forward to. Be happy, Katie May!
