Figure drawings-Quick sketches from Tuesdays class

14 x 18 Oil on Gallery Wrapped Canvas..
So here are some very quick skethces from Tuesday's sitting. I haven't been in months and realized that I really need to force myself out for a regular art fix. It's just as important for my soul as other things are to me physically. One thing I have found interesting since I began attending live figure drawing classes is how beautiful different shapes, sizes, ages, etc are! I have to admit that the women who have modeled are not women I would pick out of a crowd, and yet when sitting there for our class they become beautiful!
I enjoyed this class because many of the poses were one minute poses. Really forces me to draw without thinking. Also I forgot my eraser....Which I think is a good thing, and I think I may "forget" it next time.
The painting is the same one I posted a couple of days ago, with some very small modifications that probably only I notice!
Hope everyone is enjoying the springtime! It certainly awakens the artist in me!

So true about figure drawing/painting. I hate skinny models - nothing interesting! We had this tiny ballerina once for weeks on end - I thought I'd die of boredom!

Lovely beach scene. I will have to find out more about your show.....
