Cox Reservation-Essex, Ma

6 x 18 Oil on Gallery Wrapped Canvas

So I CAVED! I painted a marsh scene. One of those paintings I always say Ipswich artists paint way to many of. Oh well :-) This was actually painted from a photo my husband took that has been hanging in our living room. I have always loved it and was looking for something to paint that would fit the ratio of this canvas. I think this worked.....This is such a beautiful spot over in Essex. This will be at Art in the Barn in Essex this weekend!

I am going to try to get a lot of painting in in the next few weeks. With the baby due so soon, I suspect I won't be painting as much this summer as I would like! Just a hunch ;-)

Hi Katie, I found your blog today and thought I'd browse. Found this beautiful scene in Essex, yes, you are right on with this piece. Been there myself and know how lovely this painting is. I also enjoyed your sunsets, seaside paintings and the donuts are really neat. It's a lot of work being self-taught; I know. Me too! Don't be too hard on yourself just keep practicing and there will be those aha! moments and everything will click. Best always,
Carol
