Mixed bag.....

I played a little today with this piece of meringue pie. I recently purchased lemon yellow, and finally figured out why I had never been able to get the meringue color just right. Luckily it was done from a picture so I didn't have to eat the pie. Or perhaps that was unluckily!

Below is the painting I mentioned for the blog contest I was going to do. You are assigned a particular area of the country and then using "street view" on Google maps you pick an image to work from. The area is currently Arizona so I picked the bottom image. As I was painting I kept thinking the "road" looked like water. Then my daughter walks in and says mommy, I think that's a river. Low and behold, on close inspection it is water! It must be some sort of irrigation system since it is in the desert!

So it somehow ruined the painting for me, because I realized no one else viewing it would know what it is either. I don't hate this painting, but don't love it either. I don't think there is anything extraordinary. I think I will try a new subject before the contest deadline!
