20 x 20 Oil on Canvas
I did this on a small canvas months ago. I redid it on this one this weekend. I think it still needs tweaking, but more or less it is done. What bothers me is what bothered me the first time. The white building on the right. I hate it and don't know what to do with it. I could remove it, but then the dark shadow ON the bridge wouldn't make sense. And I like that blue/black spot on the right of the bridge. I tried softening the edges on the building which someone had suggested last time I did it. I tried to grey it up a little so it wasn't so stark white. Ugh I don't know. I will probably play with it til I submit it for the juried show coming up. And then when it doesn't get accepted I can just blame it on that darn building ;-)

This is still one of my favorites and I was hoping you'd pick it for submission. I didn't remember noticing the white building in the last one. If you want to remove it you should - the shadow will still make sense as it could be cast from something outside the area you see. You need to be happy with the painting too. Love it!
I really like this.
About the building, which doesn't bother me, If you blocked that in fairly dark with grayed color, then stroked some white (but not total white)over it just to get the form, it may read better. Even squinting at a white building like that would give you areas of darkness.
