Storm Clouds Over Crane Beach

6 x 12 Oil on Gallery Wrapped Canvas $75
I think I may have finally come out of my slump! I have done several lately in this monotone style with a lot of grays, blues, and white. Being so color-minded most of the time this is a real challenge for me! I love playing with the clouds, and I think I will continue with different cloud views. There is something about these stormy, gray days at the beach that I love. It's on those days that I feel how priviledged to live near the ocean. Most people have taken a vacation on a sunny beach at some point in their lives, but the stormy cloudy days are the ones you know well if you live near the ocean. Misty and mysterious, when you are the only one walking. I LOVE those days. My husband and I went to Rockport last fall when there was that hurricane and stood out on the pier feeling the intensity of the storm. Oooh I can't wait for summer storms!
Gearing up for my first show of the spring at Circle Furniture in Danvers. Opening May 7th....Come if you can!

You have some lovely work! The colors in this piece are so evocative of the changing coastal weather. (I like your pastries, too!) Glad to have found you through Kelley... looking forward to your next works.

Good luck with your show! I love the format AND the subtle colors of this painting. I've lived on the beach, and I totally 'get' how you love the moody days, me too! I'm going to try to get to your show, although with my new 'baby', it's tough to leave him, tough to take him!

Hey Paula....Yes it is a Kane's bismark. It's the one the kids devoured right after I took a pic!
Kelley and Paula, I would love to see you for the opening.....However, I will also be in Art in the Barn in Essex. It's 4 days in June and it's a beautiful event on the Cox Reservation.....Maybe you want to come for that one instead! Either I would love to see you both and if that doesn't work out we will just plan a painting get together at some point.
R Garriot-So strange! I stumbled upon your blog through Kelleys a coupld of days before you left your comment. I love your bright vibrant work!
