6x6 oil on canvas board
I LOVED painting this! I used a few combined techniques for the background, mostly from (once again) my friend Su. I think after this first test piece I can get the background a little closer to what I was expecting on the next piece, but for a start I like the effect! It would be fun to do it a little bit bigger next time.
New dick blick order coming next week....So excited for some new paint colors that I have never used before.
Note on the last post: rather than do a giveaway if I get 25 comments, I will just wait a week from the post date and pick randomly from whoever has commented.....Makes more sense than waiting for 25!

Hey Katie, I think this turned out great!
Very different - a new direction for you and a good one... I keep looking at it... simple subject yet there is a lot of depth that keeps drawing me in.
