Commission complete and Retro Diner

6 x6 Oil on Canvas Board

16 x 20 Oil on Canvas

Here is a little painting I did today. I haven't had much time to get anything done so I did this little practice one tonight. I really want to try to get back to the retro feel I used to have when I first started painting. I am on the lookout for material that fits the bill! It might be a fun larger piece as well....
The bottom one is a commission I just completed. They always make me nervous. The lady who had me do it says she likes it and I am crossing my fingers that it is true!

Go retro! That's a great composition! And I'm sure the lady was telling the truth...what's not to like?! :)

Love the crop on your diner sign... very fun and to the point! Who can resist those old signs?

I really like your diner sign...you mention it was a practice...will we see another one? I also like the commission. It has more of a folk art feel to it than retro but it is delightful and looks like a portrait of a happy home!

Thanks everyone....The commission was hard because I had to change the composition a little because there were all these big trees around the house...Hope they like it!
