Vintage Lemon

12 x 12 Oil on Gessoed Paper-
I am really happy with this one...My first attempt at a lemon and I was pleased with the fabric. I had doubts about the geometric pattern and setting it up with so many folds, but I wanted a challenge....I think it really worked...I also tend to shy away from so much white, but I think I am improving...I originally had a vintage plate for this painting, but I decided to do just the lemon, because I like it against the table cloth...It;s sort of part of the pattern.. This is the last one I will do for the art show on Saturday....I am not sure how well I will do...Anyway after the show, with the encouragement of an artist friend, I will list what is available for sale and sell them through here....People have asked if they were for sale, so now after this weekend some of them will be! Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers!

You do fabric wonderfully. I long to do it that well. Also, I enjoyed your reminisences (sp?) of your grandmother. So sweet. I'm sure she treasured you.

Happy Mother's Day to you! What a great job with the fabric as well as the lemon - are you SURE you haven't been painting for years?? :) Katie May, do not worry about this art show. You work will be in other art shows, I guarantee it. It won't be long before you're a featured artist at shows - just put this show on your resume, have fun at the Opening, and keep painting!

Great words from Kelly , I agree, but, it does not matter how long you have been painting. Butterflies and being nervous is all part of it. Have fun, your work is lovely.
p.s. thanks for your visit, Amy

Happy Mother's day belatedly. This is so well done. I'm with Kelley, are you sure you haven't done this before?
