Well YAY! My first art show was teeny tiny! I didn't have the highest hopes for people coming when it looked gray, gloomy, and cold! BUT I found out this morning when I went to pick up that I sold three paintings!!!!!! I was absolutely thrilled...I can't explain the little thrill of pride I felt...I have gone to craft shows before and sold things I made such as pillows and home decor....But I never got the little thrill when I found out I sold paintings!! Something I dreamt up! SOOOO overall I think it was a huge success for me...And just the confidence boost I needed. Now I am kind of bummed because there is a wonderful art show Essex, Ma next month and I didn't have the guts to try to get it in (even though my artist friend told me to). I am volunteering for it and I will have to see everyone else's beautiful work, and just wish I had entered.. But that is a lesson suppose....You don't get anything without the risks...Here is a photo my husband took at the show. I know I am a dork but I was so excited to be there!

Congratulations on your sales! That is a huge affirmation. I'm always so excited when I see something. I doubt that the thrill will ever go away.
I meant to write "sell" instead of "see." It's Monday......
Congratulations! And you're not a dork - just happy and proud! The picture your husband took of you is great - and love your outfit.
Congratulations on your show and sales! As for entereing shows, the only advice I would offer is to make sure the photographs of your paintings are professional. Super new art marketing book I would recommend: "I'd Rather Be in the Studio".
NOT a DORK!!!! This is a great photo - you'll always look back on it and say "There I am at my very first art show!" Congratulations on the sales - yes, it gives you a lift, validation, when they happen! As you go along, try to select frames that are the same or similar - gives show a cohesive look. But nobody does that at the begining - too expensive! You look great, your work looks great - enjoy!
