"Ipswich From the North Green"

I took this photo on a cold night a couple of weeks ago...It's looking down Market Street from the North Green.
Painted it yesterday on my NEW stand up easel that hubby got me. I love it...It was definitely a "painter's" Christmas. I got paints (the purple on the sky in this one), and about 20 new brushes, and a new pallette. It was great. And the whole time I was painting my hubby was in the kitchen brewing beer with his new Home Brew Beer kit...Then because my kids were with their dad, we decided to eat out...But the only place that was open on Christmas around here was the Indian Restaraunt in Newburyport. It's weird because when we lived in Vermont lots of places were open for Christmas....Anyway I think we started a new tradition for the years when the girls are with their Dad. Indian! Which works because we love Indian. And surprisingly we weren't the only ones there! It did feel slightly reminiscent of the Christmas Story! I took a great picture of a storefront with mannequins on the way out with all the street lights...I might do it next.

I love that you're tackling these really difficult compositions. I like it! Nocturnes, no less!
