So I did this today from my kitchen table. This is the view from my huge window in the kitchen....I am constantly jealous....It's such a beautiful house. and the sun always sets behind it! Well needless to say we have been dumped on with snow NON stop for the last three days...It's been kinda fun...We have such a snuggly little house and nowhere to be....
So would this be considered Plein Aire? Considering I was sitting in the comfort of my kitchen I am not sure that it counts!

Gee Katie, I don't think you can get away with calling it Plein Air, but what the heck...what really matters is the end result and it's a delightfully pleasant scene. I love the point of view you have captured with the proximity of the neighborhood houses to each other plus the Victorian details of your "dream house!"
What a wonderfuls cene to look at everyday... a yellow house is so cheerful, specially in the snow! I love all the detail, right down to the snow shovel out front ready to go to work after the snow has finished falling. Very nice!

I love this, this would be my dream house, too! Nice job. I think plein air implies being outside. But I WOULD call it alla prima! You did so well with the architecture!
Of course it counts as Plein air. You were painting directly from the view you saw and the light was changing..and you captured that. Charming! Happy New Year!
I like this. To be plein aire you would need have cracked the window a bit to let some plein aire in. ;-)
