Beach Rose-AKA Rosa Rugosa

6 x 12 Oil on Gallery Wrapped Canvas For purchase info click here

I actually painted this same exact flower about 6 months ago. I got these neat canvases though and wanted someting summery so I did it again. It is sort of funny to come from something so loose like the last post to something like this. I never know what dictates how I am going to feel like painting!
I mentioned the last time I painted this, that the smell of these are absolute heaven to me. There is nothing so wonderful as the summer air mingled with the ocean smell, and these wild roses. Yummy!
Gosh I can't wait for summer. Now that the holidays are over there is nothing the least bit fun about winter, and I am counting the days til beach weather!

This is really lovely. Whenever I see one of these plants they make me think of my late mother-in-law who loved flowers and gardening including beach roses. I think I also like it because it is currently snowing heavily outside and this painting is making me think summer!

I think this is one of my favorites. I love the composition and the color and the textrues of the plant. I love roses and gardening too so not a stretch for me. Wonderful!
